Why this biography?

Talking about tribalism is talking about the homeland to which these tribes belong, from which they derive their roots, the secret of their strength and existence, their identity, and the details of each family tree, and how it branched out, multiplied, and grew. Such talk means preserving memory and kinship ties, and knowing history and kinship for generations who are born and have not seen from their large family except a generation that came later, so they do not know to whom they belong, and they do not possess the memory of the land and the people who lived on it, developed it, loved it, and were loyal to it and its leadership. Some of this generation may be ignorant of the biography of their ancient ancestors, their loyalty and connection to this land in its harshest times, their patience with its hunger, thirst, desolation, and the bitterness of living in its scorching desert, mountains, and sea, and their loyalty and love for its leadership when God blessed it with the blessing of Zayed and his brothers, the founding leaders. This represents a loss and a great loss in the identity and history of the people of this land.

But this book does not talk about the tribe - despite the importance of this talk for all tribes - but it talks about a personality who lived in his time and was a figure of knowledge to everyone who lived near him, passed by him, or heard about him. He lived as a symbol of generosity, charismatic leadership, courage, nobility, and people's closeness to him, a quality that was established in many great men and women known in the region.

What distinguished him was that he was generous in a time of hunger, poverty and need, as the “old men” expressed when they spoke about him and the society of that time preserved his description. “He lived rich in his time with the love of the people for him, and their closeness to him, generous with what he gave, and what he owned he gave to those who asked him and to those who did not ask him. That was the ultimate goal of his desire and the secret of his joy and happiness throughout his life. And when he disappeared, his reputation and memory remained, and Khalfan bin Saif remained the legend of his enclosure and the witness of the “oud” that he lived in and the status of his family and his descendants among those who knew them.”

Here is some of his biography. We tried to gather its fragments from what remained in the memory of some of the figures who lived with him or their children, as they heard about him from their families, the biography of that great man in his status and qualities.

We preserve it here so that it may remain a beacon reminding us that the land and times are remembered by their men, their qualities and their good deeds, and that the Emirates is rich with such personalities that its land has produced and continues to produce.
