On fear (how we see our true selves)
Product details
On Fear (How We See Our True Self) by Jiddu Krishnamurti... Why not make mistakes, and why not discover the truth for yourself? But the fearful person constantly thinks: “I have to do the right thing. I have to appear respectable, and I mustn’t let the public think about who I really am.” Such a person is truly fearful. We have hidden fears deep within us, which we may not even be aware of, and there are obvious psychological and physical fears. There is the fear of insecurity, of not having or losing jobs, of the impact of strikes that occur from time to time, and so on. Thus, most of us are somewhat anxious, afraid of not feeling completely safe physically. This is obvious, but why? A fearful person will not be able to find the truth or what they seek. Fear lies behind everything we do, and this makes us like someone chasing a mirage. Fear is alive; you cannot control it, and you cannot erase its features by any means. If you act out of fear, you will be lost, because fear and love cannot coexist.
