The Glass Lady

In his new novel, Amr Al-Adel follows the journey of “Thoma,” who has not yet recovered from the pains of childbirth, only to find the newborn baby with a large head.

In a flowing style, the author takes us to several contrasting worlds: the world of the circus with its magic, the world of hunting with its conflict, the world of agriculture with its hope, and the world of factories where there is no place for the weak or lazy.

The author tells us the heroine’s journey, blending a strange world with a reality you can feel all around you wherever you look; starting with the stepfather who sees her as having been created without purpose, passing through helpless women trying to “struggle” and men searching for their crushed masculinity, until “Thoma” reaches a hut where she thinks she has lost safety.
