"The Devil Preaches" consists of 12 stories and two plays, none of which are titled "The Devil Preaches." Indeed, there is no story with that title, but once you finish reading the collection, the evils of betrayal, murder, deceit, theft, and lies will be embodied; the devil himself will be present.

Its first edition was published in 1979, and one of its most famous stories is (Ayoub), which tells the story of a bedridden and sick millionaire whose condition and principles change after meeting an old friend.

The film “Ayoub” was inspired by one of the stories in the collection. It was directed by Hani Lashin in 1983 and starred Omar Sharif and Fouad El-Mohandes.
