The Lover by Ghassan Kanafani... This book contains three unfinished novels. It's as if Ghassan Kanafani wanted his bomb-torn body to write the ending. Yet, the ending remains unwritten. With this writer, there are no endings. There is only the search that opens new horizons when every other horizon closes. These unfinished novels were only published after Ghassan Kanafani's martyrdom, and when they were first published in the journal "Shu'un Filastiniya" (Palestinian Affairs), they came as a complete surprise. Why didn't he finish his novels? At least "The Blind and the Deaf," which represents a qualitative leap in Kanafani's literature, and in Palestinian literature in general.
