Returning to California as a tourist

Nearly twenty years after graduating from California in the United States, Ghazi Al-Gosaibi returned to his homeland as a tourist with his family. His eyes, both as a writer and a traveler, were drawn to the changes that had taken place in the places, the people, and the life. There, as he stood before the house he had lived in and the university where he had studied, many joyful scenes passed before him.

In his satirical and entertaining style, Al-Qusaibi compares American and Saudi societies, criticizing his society's lack of constructive cultural manifestations despite the available resources.
