The hat and the prophet
Product details
The Hat and the Prophet by Ghassan Kanafani... "The Hat and the Prophet" is one of Ghassan Kanafani's most famous plays. Kanafani wrote this play several months before the 1967 defeat, but the events of the defeat and its aftermath prevented its publication until nine months after Kanafani's assassination. The play's central idea is a defendant's cage that sometimes contains the victim and sometimes the judge. The play carries many symbolic meanings. Who accuses whom? Or are all of us accused? This "thing" that comes from another world is neither a hat nor a prophet, and perhaps everyone is accused of killing this "thing" that came from another world, and this "thing" is either a hat or a prophet. The accused confesses to killing this "thing" by saying that we, in reality, kill those we do not know.
