The village over which the angels hovered
Product details
Nothing disturbed the peace until they found her body at the bottom of the well. They said the jinn had killed her in revenge against her husband, or perhaps she had killed herself, but no one considered the possibility that a human might have killed her, and they remained silent. Her husband went mad afterward, and no one could understand him anymore.
Our story takes place in a remote mountain village. It is not a story about individuals, but it is the story of the village.
The beginning was there, deep in the mountain, far from the eyes of the city, alone except for its people, who wake up at dawn, pray, sit in the simple coffee shop, exchange their few news, the sun comes out, and everyone goes off to do what he needs.
A friendship blossoms between two young boys, each with their own dreams; one wants to be a writer, the other a detective. Years pass, and they achieve their dreams, but the world isn't as rosy as they imagined. And then there's this strange old woman who never moves, why does she sit so motionless, as if she and the mountain are made of the same material? Why does she know everything, understand everything? And what's the close connection between this remote Gulf village and the highest capital city in the world, in South America?
The novel's fabric intertwines reality with imagination, friendship with crime, sarcasm with seriousness, love with animosity, and death with life!
