Crimes on the Beach By Fifka Steen... On a hot July morning on the Swedish holiday destination of Sandha, a man takes his dog for a walk and makes a gruesome discovery: a body caught in a fishing net that has washed ashore. Police detective Thomas Andreson, the first to arrive at the scene, recognizes the deceased as Christer Berggren, a mainland bachelor who had been missing for months. All the evidence points to an accident—until another brutally tortured body is found in a local hotel. This time, however, it is Berggren's cousin, whom Thomas had interviewed in Stockholm just days before. As the islanders shudder at the news, Thomas turns to his childhood friend, local lawyer Nora Lind. Together, they try to unravel the mysteries left behind by these two enigmatic strangers—while also trying to understand the difficult ups and downs their lives have faced since their youthful summers together.
