Were not the emerging “courtyard cinemas” at that time like those we see today in the “malls” of some Gulf countries, or like the screens set up by the Kingdom’s “cafes”, not only because of the technological primitiveness, but because most of them lacked the organization and preparation necessary for viewing and proper marketing.
This is clearly evident from reviewing rare photos of the first gatherings of Saudis in front of broadcast “boxes” directed in front of display screens, which were naturally limited to the colors black and white.
