Blue Collar Girl
Product details
I still remember that strange gathering of our relatives at our house the day my parents went to pick up my sister from the city police station. They all came to our house early that morning to see the newborn, and they huddled around the television, listening intently to the long list of names being read by a young announcer... until my parents returned. They cheered when the announcer mentioned my sister's name. I asked my aunt, surprised by what was happening, "Did you all gather like this the day my parents went to pick me up from the city?" She said, "No, your parents didn't even go to the city to pick you up. You're like all the other village children... your parents picked you up from the local police station. But Susan's situation is a little different; she's a blue-collar worker." Before sighing, she added absently, "God sent that child to our family at just the right time."
