David Martin lived through difficult times in his life. A seventeen-year-old young man passionate about writing, he worked at the dilapidated newspaper (Voice of Industry), which he had arrived at with his desperate and unlucky father, who had returned from the Philippine War to find a city he did not know and a wife who had forgotten his existence and decided to abandon him two years before his return. This novel is the second part of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books quartet, and it is worth mentioning that it is not related to the events and people of the first part except in the part that concerns the Cemetery of Forgotten Books and the relationship of the Sempere Library to the two cursed writers David Martin and Julian Carax. Therefore, each novel can be read separately and without sequence, but I prefer to read The Angel's Game first. A novel with a detective feel, tinged with various crimes (murder, kidnapping, threats, corruption, deception, and treachery), a complex and mysterious blend of Carlos Ruiz Zafón's masterful imagination, which he accustomed us to in *The Shadow of the Wind*, and which he immerses us in again in *The Angel's Game*, but with a different story, from the passion for reading to the madness of writing and love. The image of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books must surely linger in our minds after the picture Zafón painted for us in these two masterpieces, that magical place that inhabits the memories of bookworms and writers, such as Daniel Sempere and his mother Isabella. We may not find this exciting and cursed place in Barcelona, but Zafón created it in the minds of his readers with all its magic, mystery, horror, and captivating fragrance. This novel is for those with vivid imaginations and lovers of mysteries and multiple secrets.
