“Contentment has three levels; the first level: the contentment of the general public, which is being content with God as Lord and being displeased with the worship of anything other than Him…”
The second level: contentment with God Almighty. This contentment is expressed in the verses of revelation. It is contentment with Him in all that He has decreed and ordained. This is one of the first paths of the people of the elite, and it is valid with three conditions: the equality of the conditions for the servant, the absence of dispute with creation, and sincerity in the request and persistence.
The third level: contentment with God's pleasure, so the servant sees neither displeasure nor satisfaction in himself, which motivates him to abandon control and decisive choice, and to relinquish discrimination even if he is cast into Hell.
This book, despite its small size and simple language, is one of the most important books of Sufism.

The author is Sheikh al-Islam, the exemplary imam, the great memorizer Abu Ismail al-Ansari al-Harawi, the sheikh of Khorasan, from the descendants of the Prophet's companion Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. He is a prominent figure among the Sufis. He was born in the year 396 AH.
