Pistachio theory

Every person around you is a unique blend of psychological, genetic, and cultural traits. You, I, and everyone you know are the product of elements, circumstances, and influences that differ even between twins. As we age and experience diversify, we become like a locked suitcase, its contents unknown to us. However, the problem doesn't lie in the diversity of human personalities; Rather, it lies in each person's failure to discover their unique qualities and the reasons for their difference from others... in each person's belief that they are unique in their era, singular in their time, and the sole authority on matters of disagreement and obscurity... in their conviction that what they have arrived at (after what they consider conscious and profound thought) is correct and sound, unprecedented in the world... Whatever our opinions and the results of our thinking, they are ultimately the product of profound and unconscious influences, to which most of us attribute them... the product of motives and backgrounds that lead us to adopt opinions and ideas that we believe everyone should adhere to. It rarely occurs to us that our decisions and our worldview might be distorted by inherited traditions, prevailing norms, and ideas.
