Nina is the only child of a single mother and lives her life exactly the way she wants: a job at a bookstore, a trivia team, and a cat named Phil. If she ever suspects there is more to life than just reading, she shrugs and picks up a new book .
When Nina's father, whom she never knew existed, suddenly dies, leaving behind countless siblings, nieces, and nephews, Nina is horrified. They all live nearby! And almost all are eager to meet her! She has to talk to strangers. It's a disaster! As if that weren't enough, she suddenly discovers that Tom, her arch-rival in trivia contests, is actually quite nice, funny, and genuinely interested in getting to know her. Doesn't he realize how awful that idea is?
There, Nina considers three options .
1. To completely change her name and appearance (a very cruel option, besides the fact that she loves her hair).
2. She escapes to a deserted island. (A difficult choice, given that she will miss: coffee).
3. She hides in a corner of her house and paces back and forth. (That's what she actually does.)
It's time for Nina to step out of her comfortable shell, but she's not convinced that real life can ever keep up with fantasy. It will take dealing with a completely new family, someone who's been persistently asking for her hand in marriage, and the double whammy of ice cream and marginal information to turn that new page in her life .
